We invite you to join us for one retreat or consider creating an ongoing rhythm of solitude retreats. We will prepare the space so you can just come and be with God, the only One who can show you how to live freely and lightly.
Our retreat rhythm in 2024 is every other month in January, March, May, July, September, November. Our current scheduled retreats are:

TRY ONE OF OUR SELF-GUIDED Retreat options
We are excited to announce that we have created several self-guided solitude retreat options that will be available for your personal use. You can do them wherever and whenever works for you. We will provide almost all of the components of our in-person retreats. Once you sign up you will receive a link the next day to: guided audios (slowing experience, lectio divina and short devotional teaching) as well as downloadable devotional cards and several guided experiences. We will give you guidance in how to get started and then trust God for the rest.
DescrIption of a Typical in-person Retreat Day
During each retreat day, we will gather at the beginning of our time to prepare our hearts for what God might have for us and to explain several guided solitude options. You can decide to follow the guided solitude options or follow your own promptings from God. We will come back together at the end of the day for conversation about your experience. Lunch, snacks, beverages and optional experience materials will be provided. Optional spiritual direction sessions will also be available.
All retreats are day-long experiences beginning at 8:30am and ending at 4:30pm. Registration will begin at 8am.

Our in-person retreats will be at Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darian, IL. We look forward to hosting you at this peaceful space for restoration.

$139 includes lunch and materials. $119 early bird rate available until 4 weeks before the retreat. Use Discount Code EARLYBIRD. You can also sign up for spiritual direction on the day of your retreat for an additional $70.
CONSIDER GETTING INTO A RHYTHM OF SOLITUDE
$595 includes 6 retreats for the price of 5 (an overall savings of $239). Must be used within a 15-month period and non-transferable.
spiritual direction AS OPTIONAL RETREAT OFFERING
Six individual spiritual direction sessions will be offered at each day retreat (approximately 50 minute sessions with either Gail or Joan). These sessions will be available on a first-come first-serve basis for an additional fee. The cost is $70. Please be sure to choose the option for the same retreat day you are planning to attend. OVERNIGHT ROOM ADD-ON
Rooms can be reserved for the Carmelite Spiritual Center by calling 800-431-8720 for an additional cost depending on availability before or after the retreats. Coming early and spending the night allows you an extended time with God and a slow start to your day and the beautiful campus.
WHAT TO BRING
Bible, journal and comfortable clothing and walking shoes to walk the grounds.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR THE SOLITUDE RETREATS
Full refund will be given for cancellations made 2 weeks prior to the event. Cancellations within the two week period will be refunded except for $50 non-refundable charge upon written request. Refunds within this two week window must be requested via email and include your mailing address.
Gift Certificates
A day of retreat is a unique personal gift of set apart space with God. The fruit of the day will be a rich gift well beyond the actual retreat day.
Click below to sign up your friend and pay. All you need is their name, address and email. You do NOT need to know when they can go. Once you sign up and pay, we will send you a gift certificate you can print and wrap. The gift certificate gives your friend instructions on how to register online so we know when they are coming and at that point they can decide if they would like to add spiritual direction. They can also go to our website for more information or contact the Carmelite Spiritual Center if they would like to book a room to stay before or after the retreat.

Each Friday and Saturday of any session are identical themes and experiences. But every other month we change the theme so you are always coming back to a new piece of content and experiences. The rhythm of the day and the location will have a comfortable feel if you return.
